Sunday November 2nd
Starting at 10 p.m. in Balboa Avenue
(Panama City) 100.000 candles will be distributed to the
public and 2.500 units of the Institude of National
Security will be carrying torches, they will silently
escort the First Flag of the Republic that will be
transported in an old carriage of firemen to the Square of
the Independence located in San Felipe (Casco Viejo
Panama). Here, the flag will be presented to the President
of Panama, her Excellency Mrs. Mireya Moscoso, who will adress the panamanian people.

At midnight (12 a.m.) the
bells of all the Churches of the Country will ring and at12:05
a.m. the National Hymn will be intoned. Later on there will be
fireworks and music of denominated bands "Dianas."
In the Balboa Avenue screens will be placed where one will see
direct shots from the Square of the Independence.
Monday November 3rd -
Independence Day
Starting at 7 a.m. protocol
acts begin and at 8 a .m. the bells of the Churches of Head of
County and Districts of the whole Country will ring. All the
religious congregations will elevate a prayer to God in action of
grace for the 100 years of republican life.
In the whole country more
than 100,000 rosaries with the Image of the Lady of Panama, Santa
María La Antigua will be handed out. To the non Catholics a
bookmark with messages from each religious belief will be handed
out.

At 9 a.m. the Patriotic
Parade begins.

4: 00 The Tedeum will be
celebrated in the Metropolitan Cathedral (Casco Viejo, Panama).

5 p.m. The Commemorative
Record of the Centennial of Panama will be signed.

6 p.m. Hour zero of the
Centennial clock in Amador.

6 p.m. until midnight
the Centennial Concert will take place in the whole Country
with national and international artists.
Tuesday November 4th -
Day of the Flag
-
Starting at 9 a.m. the
patriotic parades will begin.

4 p.m. the celebrations
will close with the Centennial Festival that will take place
in the Balboa Avenue in Panama City with allegorical cars,
folkloric representations and ethnic delegations.
Come and celebrate with Panama it's First
Great Century and participate in all the events and folkloric
festivities in the whole country, during the month of November. |
